California Islands Research and Conservation Forum

For decades, the agencies and organizations of the California Islands have prioritized inter-island meetings, recognizing that we share common challenges, goals and solutions. Beginning with the California Island Symposium (1965-present), the Islands Research Collaborative (1990-2002), the Island Fox Meetings (1998-present), and the Islands BioSecurity and Plant quarterly meetings (2012-present) we have convened semi-regular meetings to discuss current research and conservation strategy.

Acknowledging that consistent communication throughout the baja and alta California Islands will catalyze innovative research and conservation strategies, and that limited funding necessitates strategic solutions to our challenges, the California Islands Research and Conservation Forum was created to be a resource for island users and a place to interface on the multitude of projects and proposals taking place on the Islands.

Please explore the website, read up on the California Islands Symposium coming up in November 2023, and submit ideas to improve our communications via the web and apps.
